Turbosonidero (Roman Zepeda), producer from San José, CA with roots in Puebla, is the architect of Kumbia Obscura — a clandestine sound fusing sonidero cumbia with rap, hip-hop and broken basslines into what he calls “Tumbia”.

Co-founder of Kumbia Net and Discos Pirámide, and member of Grupo Jejeje, he has built a universe of dark edits, sonidero archives and barrio grooves. His album Lowrider Kumbias (2022) remixed oldies with electro-cumbia riddims, paying homage to his upbringing between lowriders and sonidero culture.

Recognized globally as a catalyst of the new cumbia boom, for Kumbionik he prepares a fierce set: broken bass, sonidero roots and pure clandestine fire.
