Amantes del Futuro is the vision of Ima Felini, born between Mérida and Mexico City, bending time since 2002 to turn cumbia into a language of the future. The sound is rooted in the classics — Colombian cadence, sonidero pulse, rebajada drag, villera fire, Peruvian chicha — fused with electronic low-end built for the club. It breathes both barrio and cosmos.
The discography unfolds like a prophecy: Sabor Sónico lit the spark, Fantasía Olmeca carved ritual architecture, Sabor Sónico II pushed the sound toward club ecstasy, Kumbiatitlán built a bridge from Mérida to a global sonidero cosmos with Turbo Sonidero as guide, and Futurismo Sonidero mapped the future across territories and generations. Always moving, never still — a fire in motion.
Beyond records, Felini drives networks like La Super Cumbia Futurística and curates Mucha Cumbia — a binational platform that has taken over Bogotá and Mérida, Yucatán, celebrating ten years under the banner “all the cumbia of the world at your feet.” It’s a collective altar where DJs, bands, and sonideros collide, and where Mexico and Colombia pulse as one.
On stage, every appearance proves the vision: from Boiler Room SYSTEM: Sonidero Special in Mexico City to the NMMA Gallery Sessions in Chicago, Amantes del Futuro turns tradition into a futuristic weapon, the party into ritual, and bass into a bridge between roots and destiny.
