Sofia Fly

Sofia Fly is a DJ, producer and vocalist from Toronto, and a co-founder of the club collective Veneno. A trans Latina artist and openly trans woman, she has been described by Toronto festivals and venues as a queer nightlife queen and a fixture of the city’s queer club scene.

Her debut EP Rosé (2019) —a reflection of her trans Latina identity— sets poetic “party-girl” lyrics against a Latin-inspired fusion of trap, hip-hop, house and ballroom-leaning beats. She has since released singles including “Put in That Werk” (2020) and other projects across major streaming platforms.

Named one of NOW Magazine’s “artists to watch in 2020”, Sofia Fly also appears as a producer on other artists’ work, including production for R. Flex highlighted in NOW Toronto’s feature on the sound of Toronto in 2022. Her DJ sets are regularly described as complex, genre-hopping performances built around her own remixes and beats, moving between hip-hop, disco, house and related club sounds.

Alongside her work with Veneno, she has launched her own party series Bitchcraft and performs at queer-focused events and festivals in Toronto, including programs by organizations such as Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Slut Island Festival, Root’d Fest, The Bentway and Mixto Festival.
