Ruido Selecto

Ruido Selecto is a producer, musician, and sound engineer from Medellín, Colombia. His work emerges from deep Caribbean influences—cumbia, dub, champeta, and African diasporic sounds—channeled through Picó sound system culture and modern electronic tools. He defines his style as “Caribbean Bass”: a fusion of street sound, bass culture, and tropical futurism.

Since 2015, he has released albums and EPs such as Secret Lab, Equador, and Cumbia Soundsystem, alongside remix projects like 14 Cañonazos en Dub, reimagining the legacy of Discos Fuentes through an electronic lens. His work has been featured by outlets such as Gladys Palmera.

He has toured across Latin America, the United States, and Europe, performing at festivals like Altavoz, África Futura, and Invazion Fest, sharing stages with artists such as Systema Solar, Ghetto Kumbé, and Afrotronix. He has also collaborated as a remixer and mastering engineer with labels like Discos Fuentes and Folcore Barcelona.
